We came to Florida from New York because of a job relocation. We really looked forward to the move. We had friends and family already living in Florida -- also, the cost of living in Long Island, especially with two kids, made us feel that it would be very hard to achieve what we wanted to achieve there.

So we came down, pretty much sight unseen. We got an apartment and began thinking about buying a place of our own. That part of the process was kind of stressful, because we really didn´t know whether we were financially ready or not. Buying a home was something that was new to us -- I guess we were pretty green, and we didn´t know where to begin. How do you start?
Allison found Beth on the Internet and called her. I have to admit I was pretty hesitant -- I didn´t think we were ready. We hadn´t been in the area for very long, and we didn´t even know what areas we wanted to look at. Our kids were little, and we really wanted to make sure that we made a good choice about schools.
When we first met Beth, there was a comfort level right away. She immediately started educating us about what we needed to look at. She helped us figure out the questions we needed to ask, and then she stood by us for weeks as we looked at properties. As we narrowed down neighborhoods, Beth kept finding places for us to look at. Then, she introduced us to a mortgage broker who helped us determine what we could afford.
Beth drove us everywhere. She asked all the right questions on our behalf; it felt like we were with a helpful relative, the kind that you trust and turn to for help and who you know will ask the right things. It really felt like she was part of our family.
When Beth saw that we were getting exhausted by the process, she suggested something new -- looking at some townhouses instead of single-family homes. I was reluctant, and worried that a townhouse might feel too much like we were renting instead of buying. But the first time we walked through the townhouse that we ended up buying, we fell in love with it.
Beth sat down with the builder and asked a lot of tough questions for us ? we almost felt as though we didn´t have to say anything, and could just leave that part of the process to her. She was there when we signed all the papers, and she was there with us at the closing. Once again we felt that we had someone from our own family there with us.
Beth really had our interests at heart from the beginning of the process to the very end. She made the whole process really delightful.
We´ve been in our townhouse for five months now, and we love it!
